Considerign that the NPPC is a left leaning org, I'm not too surprised at this. Just goes to show that you can "Look" good and do nothing and still get a award for just that. The funny thing, the Nobel Prize for Peace should only be given for those who reach across borders and countries and dilengently work on behalf of peace. Rethertoric costs nothing and does nothing.

1.) He replaced the most vilified president perhaps of all time. 2.) He advocates for the people (not excluding but not focusing on either the rich). 3.) He plans to use diplomacy before knuckles. 4.) Everyone knows that his first term will be spent mostly on cleaning up the neo-con mess left for him. That all alone suggests that he should win it. If he is better by 1/2 of 1% the world is a better place. 5.) He doesn't sound like one of the children left behind when he talks.

Good question, considering he's been all talk and no action. Obama is a magician...all smoke and mirrors, but still just an illusion nevertheless.

ummm. something between gene and remington. the NPP is given to somebody in the world - the usa is 5% of the earth's population. he has restored an amazing amount of confidence by foreign speaking people to the united states. the u.s. media is too extremist and blinded (in both directions in my opinion) to offer truth. i, for one, see the movement of the earth's people to have shifted in the last 9 months. i don't think that he's done so much as his presence is more soothing to 5.7 billion people. i sort of think it's premature, but, i think that it is something that he now has to live up to. and he damn straight better had! i suspect he shall not disappoint us.

He has opened the doors to peaceful negotiations with those that fear and hate us starting with is first overseas speech to Egypt and he continues to this day. Please pay attention and don't be so negative. The glass hope is filling up.
