Fish poop in there, you know. Just because it's salt water that doesn't mean it isn't also full of bacteria and things that are hostile to a healing wound. Pools aren't much better, the chlorine and dead skin and other biologicals aren't something you want on your new piercing. It's always better to wait till after vacations, you'll have more fun if you're not worried about keeping a new piercing clean and safe.

i would say wait until you get home. Its not going to ruin your holiday not having one, but it will if it does go wrong or gets infected.

can you put tongue rings into a pierced tragus? if not, can you ask your piercer to use a smaller needle so you can? if so, what size?
