The man made a personal ass kissing apology tour of damn near every country, promised them change too, well I guess the committee bought it just like a lot of people in the U.S bought the lie.

I do not criticise him at all - I criticise the awards committee to decided to award it to him!

Their criteria were clearly laid down by Alfred Nobel:
"the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses"

    Has Obama met these criteria?

I wouldn't criticize him. I would criticize the committee that even considered him for the prize.

Seriously, what has the man done to further the cause of peace in the world. All he has done on the international front is apologize for the last eight years. Of course, after 9/11, the United States was never attacked again so I really don't think any apologies were needed.

Because there is so much hatred dividing America that many people attack the President for receiving an honour.

The Politicians will never stop criticizing each other. The R and the L extremes are so busy faulting each other little work for the working people is ever accomplished.
People want to see less rhetoric from Obama and work that actually helps the working American people. He needs to make working Middle class American's his top priority. He won because they supported him.
We are all sick of all the words. As the saying goes Action's SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS!!!! That is my message to all Politicians. On the R and L.

I think he took it in stride. He said that he did not deserve the award. I don't how someone can condemn Obama for a decision made by Oslo.

I'd say they're completely dumbfounded about why Bu$h didn't get it instead.

I don't - but some folks suspect he (or his people) might have campaigned somehow - like entertainment industry people campaign for the Oscar.

I would hope they're criticising him because he has done next to nothing to stop the bombing of civilians in Pakistan and Afghanistan under his command, despite numerous protests from officials from both countries.

Honestly, in the UK right now, I don't think anyone is. If they are, their idiots. He didn't apply for this nor can he hand it back. As an Obama fan, I would say however he did not deserve this but I'm sure in his tenour, he will ear this (i hope)

I don't think anyone is criticizing him, but rather the Committee that chose him.

I've not heard anyone critize Obama. Seems he was surprized by the whole thing. The talk has been about the prize being purely political. This conversation has been going on a long time -- it's not new. They gave it to Arafat -- come on!

Because they are petty and small and childish. The Nobel committee explained their selection:

President Obama graciously acknowledged their explanation and accepted their prize along with the responsibility it entails:

And we should now all join together in being pleased and proud with and for our President:

It is a great honor for him and for our nation.

I think they are more critictising the selection of him rather then what he's done or not.

Plus, the NPPC is a left leaning org. Not surprising they'd do ANYTHING to make a liberal look good.
