Dental and Oral hygiene home remedies

Anyone have a cure for a broken tooth with the pulp showing? Can't go to dentist just yet. Can't eat anything cold or it hurts really bad. Is there a dental wax or temp. filling or cap I can use.?

I have taken a very small piece of cotton and dripped some hot candle wax on it, rolled it up and jammed it in the hole. Anything to keep the air from hitting it and driving me nuts.
