Your question assumes that both are bad. My answer would be inappropriate for the way it is stated but, Neither one if preformed respectfully and consensually, are bad. Conversely, either one performed through molestation or force (including forceful coercion) is equally bad and is, in my opinion, rape.

thank you for your further consideration of my question! the further issues you brought up are indeed written between the lines of my original question!
i am myself undecided about how "bad" it is to have sex with someone who is legally defined as underage, *if* legal considerations were not an issue.
i assume the spirit of the law is to protect those who are innocent or too "naive" to understand what is going on. but then what of the population of teens (not a small portion, im sure) who have sex before 18? what of those over 18 who have led the "innocent" lives their parents have set them on (or that they have engaged in by their own volition?
maybe, the spirit of the law is not protective of the child-victim.
(btw, im not trying to start a fight, im just typing while i think, like thinking outloud)
maybe pederasty laws have a financial reason for being? or a "lets not offend the senses of the masses" reason for being?
