  • I keep a small bottle of a mixture of Suave Daily Clarifying shampoo, vinegar, and baking soda around to remove buildup. The vinegar adds an extra bit of shine. Of course using baking soda alone or in a mixture will make your hair dry, so follow up with a conditioner. I typically do this once a week (I have lousy water).

A cup of WHITE VINEGAR instead of hair rinse. Massage in gently, and rinse off. Works wonders and your hair is truly clean.

All you really need is to final rinse (after shampoo and conditioner) with apple cider vinegar. It returns hair to its natural pH. However, I have switched over to organic shampoo and conditioner from my local health food and product store and I have never known my hair to be so incredible and healthy looking despite natural dryness and less than healthy ends.... I use the intense moisturizing shamp/cond from J.A.S.O.N. Being all natural, it doesnt have ANY of the useless junk all the regular brands have and actually absorbs all of the nutrients it gets in spades from the natural stuff - essential oils and such. the junk that leaves residue isnt even worth washing less pleasant areas of my body if ya know what i mean. i seriously dont use it if it isnt 100% beneficial now. with the simple unlikely answers to every single hygiene issue you could fathom, there is no need to throw money away on regular store junk.

Take a cup of vinegar, and sunlight dish soap and in the shower pour the vinegar all over your head and let it soak for 2 mins then rinse and use a small amount of the dish soap and wash your hair and rinse once well lathered then shampoo normally with shampoo and conditioner, my hair dresser told me to do that and it always works making my hair smooth and shiny

There are a lot of alternative natural products you can find around the house anytime you need to clean build-up out of your hair! You can mix it with water or tea for extra shine. This is an easy recipe:

    Natural Cleanser for Build-up
    1. Take a tablespoon of witch hazel, lemon juice, or apple cider vinegar
    2. Combine with one teaspoon of baking soda for extra cleansing (optional)
    3. Add to one cup of water (or tea which enhances shine)
    4. Pour on scalp and coat hair, rinse and repeat if needed
