I guess the Sparrow I ate at a friends house in 79 would be considered unconventional.
Well they're not unconventional where I live, but... octopus, squid, rabbit and horse meat are less popular elsewhere, but I think the most unconventional almost-meat is...
sea urchin roe.
Warthog, moose, human, bison and raw porcupine.
Horse, emu, ostrich, snake, snails, elk, rabbit. Not sure what you think is unconventional. Most of those are pretty conventional for me.
Raw seal liver. Taken from a seal we shot on the ice floe up in the arctic.
Alligator, bison, snail, or rattlesnake tail. Take your pick.
Emu burgers and buffalo burger. Both were non-juicy and sort of lacking in taste, not sweet like deer or duck.
Squirrel, frog legs, cow's head, ants.
Horse meat in sweden 40 years ago. Don't rememeber what it tasted like.
