Such as...a place to fit in. A Job, a home, a life...a style, a love.....a family, friends...
Everything.
The saddest thing though about the homeless is...most are veterans people just want to throw away and forget about, or they are mentally sick people who need help.
I think a good conversation and alittle attention is a thing a homeless person can find very satisfying though.
MOney, a job their self-respect (If they wanted to rise from the ashes)
A rope (If they no longer gave a damn)
For short-term joy - food. For long-term joy - a way to become the richest man on earth.
A home and a job (or job with better pay.)
Some shelter.
A clue.
In America people are homeless by choice.
(unless of course they are just plain crazy, then the best thing they can find is their way to an asylum.)

I have been homeless, and the only thing I found worthy, at that time was faith in God. The ones that had faith in God, are only in transition, to something else. I only had something in common with those who had faith. They were happy and "stable".
Money, shelter, and a job.
Support and skills from an organization versed on giving him a leg up and getting a job where he feels financially independent.
