Where I live, the west, our biggest city looks like a mini Hong Kong with all the Chinese. And we have a lot of Vietnamese which the majority of them, as far as I'm concerned, should go back where they came from. Gangs, violence etc. They don't want to be part of our society. They just want to live in their own violent world. Sad really.

That's the problem with the immigration. The word itself is saying why, they immigrate to another country cause they are living a poor life in their own and poverty brings violence with itself specially when they realize that their dreams can't come true in the new society either.

Actually there are some other reasons too that may cause people immigrate to another country, like wars or revolutions et cetera, but the majority immigrate because of poverty.

I have no problems with immigration if the immigrants will just assimilate with the native culture. The problem is that they want to impose their culture to the new land. And they have a hard time dropping some traditions that are against the law in the new country. An example: Some Indian religion requires young men to carry a small knife as a syumbol of their manhood. But carrying a knife in the US is against the law. Why not carry a plastic knife instead since it is just symbolic.

I was talking about school children, ages 13 to 15 years old. Carrying knives to school is prohibited. I don't know where you are from Sokoot, but in Northern California carrying a gun is against the law if you are not licensed or an officer of the law. If you read my answer, I never said guns are not prohibited. I can see your point about immigrants if you are a native American or a native Canadian or a native from wherever you are living now. Most everybody in the US are immigrants or their forefathers were.

I'm from Iran HoboJoe. Now what you said makes sense, I thought people can't carry knives but can carry guns. Both are illegal here though!
But I consider what you say about Americans a joke. But in reality after a few hundreds of years you should consider them all natives over there.
