  • That's an "interesting" (but ineffective) way to get even with an unfair traffic ticket. Here's a more effective way, that was done by an acquaintance (NOT a "friend") in Honolulu: This dude did some research and uncovered two important facts, regarding the Honolulu Fire Dept.: 1. Any false alarm costs the City & County of Honolulu, around $150 in "response expenditures." 2. There are probably 15 - 20 false alarms turned in each month, island-wide (on Oahu). So, this guy sent an anonymous letter (typed on a public typewriter at the public library, while wearing surgical gloves on his hands) to the Honlulu County Court Clerk's office, which read as follows (not verbatim): "You guys UNFAIRLY fined me $450 for a traffic violation last year, so now I have gotten even with you. "During the past year, I have personally turned in at least 3 false fire alarms, and at a cost to you of $150 each, so it has cost you slimy bastards a grand total of $450 in expenses to respond to them. So, we are now 'even,' and you made NO PROFIT from me, whatsoever. One charge 'cancels out' the other, right? "The NEXT time I am treated unjustly, I will turn in false alarms that DOUBLE the amount of my fine, so messing with me again will cost you TWICE what you think you are making off of me." Now, here's the "bottom line" with that guy, so no one gets the wrong idea about him: He NEVER turned in any false fire alarms, and he never would. But, as long as they THINK he did (and that he will, again) HE is the one who is having "the last laugh." +5
  • I saw a report on the news about someone paying their ticket in coins. They had to accept it because it is legal tender. In NYC city many tickets are given to make quoter's. The court area in Staten Island has a parting system designed to ticket everyone not familiar with it. Our Mayor self designated Dictator of the city thinks this is OK. He had term limits overturned. He plans to be Mayor for ever. Tickets should only be given when they are appropriate.
  • He was taking the piss.
