If you need to work from home, real estate sales is not the ticket. They are in the car all of the time, especially nights and weekends. I held licenses in sales and appraising when I was much younger. Appraising is something easily done from home. The problem is getting the work. You have to get in with banks and mortgage companies to get the work. You can invest in everything you need to work from home. A lot of the appraisers hire someone else to go out and actually do the physical inspections of the property, take the measurements, and take the photos. I don't know if you have checked into it but, in my state anyway, there is a lot more to getting the appraiser's license. Here you have to be an apprentice before you can become licensed, and the yearly fees are quite high compared to the cost of a real estate license. Good luck to you.

Instead of doing real-estate, why not try this career move? You can work from home on your computer...

I’m looking into getting involved in commercial real estate. I found out that you have to work under a licensed real estate broker. Does anyone have suggestions for someone in the Cumming / Roswell Georgia area?

A real estate broker buys a piece of property with other investors. He takes 15% of the deal as founder and additionally takes 3% of the purchase as the buyers broker. Is he bound by the fiduciary duties of a real estate broker or is he just a promoter?

You're reading I am a stay at home mom. I need to work from home 80 percent of the time. I have a home office . Would anyone be able to tell me if I should pursue a Real Estate licence or would it be better to become a Real Estate appraiser ? Commissions different?
