“ALL THE WORLD’S A STAGE, AND ALLTHE MEN AND WOMEN MERELY PLAYERS” was written by William Shakespeare in the play AS YOU LIKE IT. This saying has much relevance to us as sociologists when discussing roles, norms, and role performance. Why? Explain.

    I think a person such as a sociologists could veiw the world as a stage seeing as how the way humans perform is what causes a reaction by other people. These reactions in a way are how norms are created and veiwed. And of course if there is no one around there could not be a need for norms. And the only thing that follows norms are people. Role performance is the way we act in society in our role such as being a mother, father, or what ever.
