No okay i depends on the date you bought you have warranty on it. You have 2 options now go online to xbox.com and check troubleshooting to find out what to do. Also for a more easier way call 1800-4MY-XBOX you will be guided to a costumer service for help, explain what is going on and he will tell you to send it to them. They will fix it and if not they will give you a brand new one for free"NOTE- You may need to pay shipping to get it there". A good one should last for at least 4-6 years at the least if you treat it right. Good Luck.
