I would wait until the case goes to court and let them sort it out. It will cause quite a stir when a male turns up and the court papers are all made out as a female defendant.It will certainly embarrass the police officer that booked you,and call his eye sight into question.

i'd hand the citation to the officer's supervisor. most leo administrators i know wouldn't want a mistake like that going up to the Court.
