It all depends on where you live. In the UK for example you can drink alcohol in a pub, get married without your parents permission (in England & Wales - I think you can do that at 16 in Scotland). However some countries ban alcohol altogether so it doesn't matter how old you are, and other places you aren't allowed to drink in a pub until you're 21 (as far as I'm aware, the legal drinking age even varies from state to state in the USA) So - sorry I can't be definitive, but it all depends on the legislation in place where you live, the law is very localised.

Well it all depends on where in the world you are! Here in Ontario Canada, you can buy lottery tickets, get married, sign yourself out of class without a parental note (in most high schools anyway) and so on... Drinking is illegal until you turn 19. In Quebec you are able to drink legally at age 18.

In America, you can move out of your guardian's house, smoke tobacco, go to war, and vote.

Depends on where you live. Here in New Zealand, you could vote, buy porn or 'adult items', buy cigarettes, get into nightclubs and bars, buy alcohol, legally work as a prostitute, can be called for jury service, change your name, open a cheque account/get a VISA card, enter a contract, rent a property in your name, bet on sports/races, plus all the following 'rights' you already have: From age 10 be prosecuted for murder or manslaughter. From age 14 be charged for criminal acts besides murder/manslaughter - such as statutory rape - in youth court From age 15 hold a learner's driver license. From age 16 hold a firearms license have sex with a man or a woman who is over 16 get married, leave home or school, or get a tattoo without parental consent be tried as an adult Age 17 join the armed forces

in the USA you can: * be your own guardian (and live on your own) * join the army and possibly die for your government * go to jail and prison (instead of juvenile treatment) * vote (for a dips**t or a s**thead, take your pick) * buy cigarettes and other tobacco products (in most states) * hopefully, you can legally drive by then! * oh, and there's all sorts of websites you can legally view now as well. which reminds me of another thing you can do at 18... * buy porn (and porn related products) * get into concerts and clubs that you couldn't at 16
