What is the difference between canoeing and kayaking? Which do you prefer?

    The boat shape differs for one. In canoeing it is an open boat. Generally needs two people to paddle, one paddling on each side of the boat as the oars are one-sided.

    Kayaking uses a boat designed for one person, much smaller and the top isn't open, you fit into an openning. The oar is dual-sided to allow for a single paddler.

    I actually don't have a preference.
