Maybe Rio won the Olympics because last time the US hosted one a right wing domestic terrorist planted a bomb in Centennial Olympic Park?

    Actually, no. The last time the US hosted the Olympics was the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. I was living in Utah at the time and there were no serious security problems with those ones.

    If safety was a concern for the IOC, then they wouldn't have picked Rio, which has more than its fair share of criminal activity. Personally, I think that there were some IOC palms greased.
