• Very true, and it's a great performance by Hopkins. If I were one of the female of the species I'd go for him in a heartbeat. (And Clarice Starling, in "Hannibal," finally did.)

• The first 1997 "Funny Games" remains THE most disturbing film I've seen ( besides those Faces of Death movies, of which I've only seen about 20 minutes of the first one ), yet, Haneke is a master of the directing style in my opinion. I ended up shouting in frustration at the TV, I threw the remote at the TV ( I missed, thankfully ) and I had to turn the movie off for a while before going back. Haneke directed both versions of the film. I hear the US version is basically shot-for-shot of the original. Knowing actor Michael Pitt plays the part that actor Arno Frisch did in the original -- Pitt could be another potential nomination for me; goodlooking and a great actor. [ Despite Pitt's, I'm sure, strength in the remake -- I still refrain from watching a remake of such a disturbing premise to me. Anyway, few people , I believe , have reacted to "Funny Games" as I have. :) ] Thanks for responding to my answer, Prof Chexie at your service.
