What is your opinion about the International Astronomical Union's plan of raising the number of planets in the Solar System up to 12? (It's currently at 8 - Pluto excluded.)

    ludicrous.
    The eight planets was the option that made the most sense.

    Ceres is an asteroid, it's not really different from any other asteroid so why make just one or two of the asteroids a planet?

    Pluto, on the other hand differs from the other planets in that its orbit is tilted and elliptical, so it never really fitted in in the first place.

    In fact, Pluto only got added because it was believed that calculations showed there must another gas giant. When it was discovered, Pluto was in the right place for the missing planet, but obviously nowhere near big enough to be a gas giant.

    It's obvious now that the calculations were wrong.
