Chances are, you probably cannot. Sarah's Law (moves to allow parents to check up on certain individuals who are in contact with their children and a cause for concern) is being piloted at the moment. However - these pilots are only active in a handful of police jurisdictions (certain small parts of Warwickshire, Cleveland, Hampshire and Cambridgeshire). If you are in one of these areas, you can contact your local police and ask them for information relating to a person such who is in contact with your child. Unless you happen to live in one of the few towns covered by this scheme, and have children who are in contact with this person, it is unlikely you will be able to find out if he is a registered sex offender.
