I still have VCRs, but I no longer use them since I changed cable companies and got DVR. A couple of my VCRs are so old, they pretty much just eat tapes now. I love my DVR!
OH I don't know what I'd do without my DVR!!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!! i record everything I watch and then watch it off of there...no commercials and I can watch it whenever i want
I think the better question would be: Does ANYBODY still record tv shows the old fashioned way?
I had a vcr, then got a dvd recorder and have sold both. I haven't recorded anything off tv in 5 years or more. If I miss a show it will probably be shown again in a few days time on the same channel. It's like they have a set amount of programmes for each week and when they finish, they start showing again.
unfortunately, i'm still 20th century with the VCR ... but i rarely use ... if i miss a show, i catch it online later
I have a DVR, VCR and a DVD player and still use all of them.
I got my DVR from my cable company. I wish I can go back to Directv but where I live we can only have cable.
I have a DVR I love it. Use it everyday. I have a program that comes on 5:00 in morning. I do not like to be up at 5 so I still get to see it. And no commercials.

DVR I can still record my shows the old-fashion way.
I have a digital-cable box with thousands-and-thousands of channels...too many to even count the channels. I don't even use not even half of them. I have a VCR. It may take some time to get the timing down just right, but, as long as I am home, it works just perfectly. And besides, VCR's will still be a major platform for TV-records in plenty of time-to-come. Keep the VCR...you'll eventually want to keep all those recordings. Most DVR's only store up to 24-48 hours worth of tapings from shows. However, don't quote me on this. VHS tapes may not have as long a recording time, but they'll do the job handily.
With the presence of these electronic equipments such as DVR's, there's no need to record any shows in a traditional way. It's pretty much easy recording shows through DVR by simply setting it up to RECORD A SHOW setup.
