If you're using Windows, connect the printer, go to Control Panel, find Hardware somewhere. You should then see a choice somewhere that lists printers. Go there and choose to "add a printer".
After the printer is installed, you should be able to find it the same place you were able to "add a printer," and from there you can right click on your printer and choose preferences or properties to change all of the settings to your liking.
If in new what OS you where using I could give you more specific instructions.

insert printer driver cd into yr cd rom, auto play the cd, click on setup, next , next
its very simple
if u want to share this printer to another pc
click on the start menu-printer & faxes-see yr printer which u have install- right click on it- and share with full control.
after that come to other pc and see the share files on it
and double click on it
u can use printer from this printer now
