Watching porn is not a form of voyeurism.
Voyeurism in the strictest clinical sense means watching an unsuspecting (and presumably unwilling) victim or victims disrobe and/or engage in sex. This CAB be carried out using a surveillance system, watching either the live action or a recording. However, what is going on in the perpetrators head is a lot different than what goes on in the head of someone viewing porn.
Fetish voyeurism is not clinical, on the other hand, because it involves watching consenting individuals. There is no invasion of privacy. It, too, differs from viewing porn because the viewer and the viewee(s) are aware of each other. The viewer is a PARTICIPANT in the act.
Watching porn generally means that the viewer and the viewee(s) are not aware of each other, or that there is a mental barrier between the performer(s) and the viewer, as in a strip club. The viewer is NOT a participant in the act. Both parties are consenting. There is no invasion of privacy as with clinical voyeurism.
In all three of these phenomena, different psychological processes are at work.

If someone is passed out, and you knew you wouldn't get caught, would you temporarily undress them just to see what they look like naked?

You're reading Is fascination with sex on video the same as voyeurism? I love to watch people make love, kissing and sex. Are there others like me?
