  • Ideally, yes. Although I manage my rental house, from over 3000 miles away. I have a friend who lives and manages in her apartment complex and it works well for her, the other tenants and the company that oversees it all. She can replace light bulbs that are out, immediately, deal with minor relations problems on site, and tries to keep one family of kids quiet after 9:00 at night so that people can get to sleep who have to be up at the crack of dawn.
