Something tells me you already have your head on straight if you are in med school but this answer would suit any student. Study hard...education is not cheap. Minimal partying...this will help your grades. Keep your eye on the prize.....there are lives to be saved by YOU someday and many are proud of you for what you're trying to become.

I wish you well and know that people like me admire people like you :)

Congratulations!! I studied hard until I was comfortable enough to have a social life (not much). For you, please take care of your health. +5

Don't skip any classes if you can at all help it. I did skip classes during my first year of college and my grades suffered as a result. Even if the subject matter is boring, go anyway!

Don't be afraid to ask questions if something confuses you. No one expects you to know everything (that's why you're in college). With a large class (100+ students), some people are too intimidated to ask questions in class. Which brings me to my third point...

Get to know your TA and/or your professor. They are there to help you figure out tough concepts, offer advice related to class material, and generally help you through the class you are taking with them. Learn their office hours, office location, and office phone numbers. Get their emails too. Don't be afraid to approach them.

And last but not least, if you are in a dorm or living on your own, don't eat just instant food. Try and eat some fresh fruit or veggies also. I know I probably sound like a mom, but staying healthy is just as important as staying in school. Healthy students can concentrate better. :)

    Take care and good luck!

I'm sure you will do well lilmiss. You have the right mindset and that is very important. Being positive will help you go far. Your future patients at a hospital will be very lucky to have you as their Doctor. It's very easy to see you genuinely care about others. I wish you the very best. :-)
