First of all change your attitude. You call them retarded so it's obvious you have little respect for them. If you are the teacher then I suggest you quit and find a profession that you actually like to do. The teachers that love what they do always seem to be able to hold the kids attention because they actually care. Kids want to be around somebody that cares. I guess what I'm saying is maybe you should start to care about them. It will make the world of difference.

"get off your high horse" is a figure of speech. also, i dont think i know more than anyone. thats why i asked for ideas on what to do with these kids. i only put "the retarded kids in my classroom" because it was a shortened way of saying "i work in a classroom with mentally retarded middle and high schoolers". you seem to be looking for a fight. im done with you.

Sure here is my answer.
Retire and ask the school board to get them a teacher who doesn't yell things like RETARDED and doesn't go around calling people morons. Some other qualifications for the new teacher should be for them to actually care about mentally challenged people and for them to have been sufficiently trained that they don't need to come to a discussion board to ask the general Internet public for advice on teaching. Additionally they should be trained in the ability to deal with difficult people without yelling, screaming, and/or name calling. Further more they should also come to school prepared for the day with various planned activities especially in a class with challenged people that seem to have the inability to amuse themselves for an hour. The applicant should also have a proven track record and at a minimum a degree from an accredited university preferably in a related field to the position.

did i go give you a bunch of negatives? nope. i have better things to do, like ask and answer questions. and you STILL havent answered my question! plus, im an associate who takes charge of the room because the certified teacher is out of the room a lot. and i dont yell things like "retarded". i use the legal term for the children i work with.

well the same shit happened to my account. so you go 1st. looks like you had 2 friends do it because every comment has 2 new ratings of -2. and BTW, typing is called typing, no matter if i use caps or not. i didnt call them "retarded" beacuse im mean. i thought that was a pretty pertinent bit of information when asking about what to do in a school.
