I Love poetry!
I love reading Keats, I like reading about him too.
He has such a way with words, its hard to explain, I guess the words just make you melt
Writing more than reading. ;-)
Myself. LOL
Here are some poems about love ("The Love Ladder" and "Senses, Feelings, and Thoughts") - http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/2420665 and another I wrote about "peace and quiet" - http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/3054690 . And here's one about "Puppy Love" - http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/2252505
I do, and no favourites. Poetry is open to all who dramatize with words. :)
Robert Service
The Brownings
The Bard
Robert Frost
I like it too. I've read some wonderful poems by students. I like to read Shel Silverstein, Maya Angelou, Sylvia Plath. It's not my big passion, but certainly a pleasant retreat from time to time.
e. e. cummings
Walt Whitman
Hart Crane's "The Bridge"
Archibald MacLeish
--and, the first time I read the line "April is the cruellest month" in a book of quotations, I had never heard of T. S. Eliot, but I thought, "This guy knows what he's talking about." And he does.
Sir Richard Francis Burton and
Edna St. Vincent Millay (long story behind this one)

Would this be at least somewhat okay as a rough draft for a non-rhyming poem...? It's due tomorrow. (Read Description)

You must see "Bright Star". I saw it yesterday. Ben Whishaw made an amazing Keats. As you can tell from my avatar, I really love him! Love Keats too! I was thinking of being Keats for Haloween. lol.

Where be ye going, you Devon maid?
And what have ye there i' the basket?
Ye tight little fairy, just fresh from the dairy,
Will ye give me some cream if I ask it?
by DukeG on September 30th, 2009
Ill have to try and see it
Thanks

Bright star, would I were steadfast as thou art! -
Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night,
And watching, with eternal lids apart,
Like Nature's patient sleepless Eremite,
The moving waters at their priestlike task
Of pure ablution round earth's human shores,
Or gazing on the new soft fallen mask
Of snow upon the mountains and the moors -
No -yet still steadfast, still unchangeable,
Pillowed upon my fair love's ripening breast,
To feel for ever its soft fall and swell,
Awake for ever in a sweet unrest,
Still, still to hear her tender-taken breath,
And so live ever -or else swoon to death.
.
If you love Keats it is a must!

Keats had very good taste...
To Ailsa Rock
Hearken, thou craggy ocean pyramid,
Give answer by thy voice, the sea fowls’ screams!
When were thy shoulders mantled in huge streams?
When from the sun was thy broad forehead hid?
How long is’t since the mighty power bid
Thee heave to airy sleep from fathom dreams –
Sleep in the lap of thunder or sunbeams,
Or when grey clouds are thy cold coverlid?
Thou answer’st not, for thou art dead asleep;
Thy life is but two dead eternities,
The last in air, the former in the deep –
First with the whales, last with the eagle skies;
Drown’d wast thou till an earthquake made thee steep –
Another cannot wake thy giant size!
by Ailsa on September 30th, 2009
