  • Only at properley organised displays. Too many people take advantage and use them at inapropriate hours
  • they are legal in some states, cuz theyre fun
  • They're legal here in NM...we get them twice a year and have SO much fun!
  • I think they should about as restricted as firearms depending on how dangerous they are because some are just as, if not more, dangerous than firearms. They should be restricted as far as they are dangerous. A typical firecracker being blown up in the hand isn't near as dangerous as a firearm. Although I'm a firearm enthusiast as well.
  • Fireworks are NOT NEARLY as dangerous as firearms. I believe that city sound ordinances can restrict their use at night, but other than that, there should be no government restrictions on them. For the same reason I answered before: This is a ridiculous overstepping of government power. Sure, they may cause injury of fire, but this is not their purpose. Cigarettes can cause fires that cold spread to other properties, but they should never be banned from use on private property. Bricks can break windows, should we ban those too? Perhaps we should ban hammers, I mean, they can hurt people too! Why is all this water still legal? Have you seen how many people are drowned each year?! See how crazy things can get when the government forces laws like this on the people? This is why we live in a republic (no, we are NOT a democracy, the framers of the constitution were very careful to make sure that we were not a democracy). The people make the decision with a small government, not the government telling the people what they can and can't do to keep themselves safe.
  • They shouldn't be legal for reasons other than danger. They introduce so much paper and plastic pollution into the environment that is forgotten about.
  • Yes, they should be legal. However, I think we should remove all warning labels and let the stupid take care of themselves.
  • No, Because people are stupid.
  • NO it depends on the person's age, and reasonableness of the mind.
  • they should not be legal. they are weapons of mass distruction. in the hands of children or adults, they are used to blow up just about anything near by. teenagers like to light a water proof M80 and flush it down the toilet. it explodes somewhere in the sewer line and causes all kinds of problems. or they put it in the toilet water tank and leave the building. it destroys the tank. fireworks are not toys.
  • Sure they should be legal. Just don't sell them to kids. Make the age restriction 19. They're already regulated anyway. If you think that kids will get ahold of them and hurt themselves then you have a million other things to worry about too. It's most likely that the kid will get a burn and learn his/her lesson. People will always find ways to cause trouble and you can't just start banning things if they're used the wrong way. If that was the case than they'd have to ban pencils from school because I was stabbed in the hand by another kid and I still have the black mark to prove it.
  • ya just because some retard hurt himself doesnt mean the rest of us should suffer!
  • Fireworks!!! Heck no!!! what next, no pumpkins on Halloween?? Fireworks are safe if you handle them correctly, which means not sticking them in the dirt or in a can. I think the worst part of celebrating new years or the 4th of July is the idiots that shoot the gun in the air!!
  • They are legal, in some states, and should be legal with an age restriction, like alcohol.
