If I'm being good, I'll go for a run to vent anger. Usually though, venting to a friend who can keep a secret and who will let you vent, works wonders!

Vent... as in vent feelings right? Like... vent harsh feelings after a difficult situation?

Hmmm... I usually need a healthy dose of music to keep me chill.

    Expressing my feelings also helps...

I don't vent or keep it pent up. I just let it go, it just dissipates. I realize that it is usually just someone else not meeting MY expectati0ns or my own frustration. So I give that away and it leaves, harming no one, including myself.

I take a deep breath and ask God to help me.

Often I take a step back and try to see the relative imporance of what I'm angry about.

I think about how much apologizing I would have to do to the person who got their little feelings hurt. No one likes to sit someone down and apologize to someone that is mad at you. They have a tendency to point out all of your faults in one sit down. An angry person (just like a christian) will try to take you down the same road they are going down. Before you know it everyone is yelling. Plus it is not a wise idea to pop off all of the time where I live in Memphis,TN because there is a good chance you will get shot. That one usually calms me down.

I sit alone and I write a book of poetry, never stopping until I feel like everything is lifted. If I'm mad about something my family did I write about the opposite, it's like venting and forgetting at the same time. It really works.

If it's a bit of anger, a good bash on my drum kit seems to channel that energy into something better. If I'm upset with someone, time is the best medicine.

Unfortunatly I break things too, Ive broken so many personal items of mine its not even funny anymore. One time I smashed a oak wood folding table by clenched fist karate chops over and over until ther was nothing but 3-4 inch wood chips all ove the floor. One time I tried to beat Milons Secret Castle and got close, too close..I end up doing the same thing to the nintendo, I punched it so many times that all the circuits went flying everywhere, and pieces of plastic cut my hands. One time I was just miserable for months so I decided to whack an aluminum easton baseball bat against the handbars of a steel stationary exercise bike. You may not belive it but after around 1000 swings I broke open the aluminum bat, Ive never seen the inside of an aluminum bat until then , its hollow. I showed it to people and they got scared that someone could produce that amount of negative energy and constantly swing a enforced metal bat until it broke open. I have some serious hellish energy inside me, and its all thanks to the lsd I took 10 years ago, while ruining my life, it did have some interesting outcomes, i can withstand climbing 1000's of flights of stairs everyweek, while going for 5 mile walks right after ward, im a whirlwind of satanic energy, If anyone every picked a fight with me thats under 210 lbs theyd be picking a fight with the tazmanian devil, and it wouldnt be a pretty sight. Im 230 lbs of concentrated demonic anger energy and muscle.

The best way is usually to take it out on something that won't be harmed.(i.e. pillows, clay, punching bags)

My way, however, is far from the best way.
I tend to take it out on something that is harmed by it, myself.
Which isn't ideal, but it's better than taking it out on others.

When i'm angry or sad..it works both ways..I go adventuring in NYC and just observe everythin around me, I treat myself with everything I want to do(shopping, fancy restuarents, cruise, anything).

Most of the time that helps me forget what I was angry about but just in case it didnt... Once I sat in a busy street and started crying by myself and it was amazing how strangers were actually nice enough to ask if everything was alright and If i needed anything at all. Some of them would even come back to check on me. It was really nice to see that even strangers care and the world still has some good people left in it

When I get angry, I break things. I do things like punch holes in walls, destroy game controllers with my bare hands, and kick down doors. This is by no means a good way of dealing with anger, however. If I knew of a better way, I'd do it, but nothing is quite as calming as the sounds of destruction.

I invade my housemates bedrooms, engage in tactical assaults on their beds and claim them as my own. It typically burns off energy defending from inevitable retaliation and leaves me exhausted. After gaining diplomatic immunity to attack, we discuss things and partake in the regional delicacies. (read: ranting and a smoking a joint)

Sometimes if I'm just ready to explode, from being angry at someone, I will visualise what I really want to do to them. I will just sit and think about what I want to do. Or I will visualise myself punching a heavybag or something like that, and after a while I really feel like I've let some of that anger out. (I don't have access to a gym/heavy bag) Also my BF has boxing gloves, if I find it necessary he'll glove up and dodge my punches. He's sweet like that.

If I am really angry I hit the gym or hit the kick bag in the basement. It is an awesome relief putting on some boxing gloves and beating the crap out of something.

My brother's sinsei let me in the dojo after my mom died and told me to punch stuff. I felt better afterwards and have done it ever since.

    cake.

    i write.

if i'm upset with a person, i'll write them a letter, although i never send them.

and if i'm upset with a situation, i'll write a narrative.

it just helps me to get things out on paper.
