Help answer this question below.
Six months ago, had a short-term contract with an small accounting firm. Firm recently went public but old corporate culture remained. I experienced considerable condescending remarks/intonations from Partners I worked with and heard the "B" word being used quite openly in my and others' presence. Some of my duties included me being away from my desk for 20 -30 minutes at a time; and although I would "report" my whereabouts and duty each time to my supervisor, she would continually come by to confirm same. It went as far as she also attending the ladies' washroom when I took my nature break. (I did not feel to report this need to her.) After two months, it was evident that a definite pattern of control was being exerted here. Having spent more than 30+ years in a consumate corporate environment, I was taken off guard by the disrespect and lack of trust I was encountering. Needless to say, I walked in one morning and after hearing the B word a few too many times, called my agency to terminate the assignment. While agency stood behind me; I haven't been able to secure employment since. Do I regret my decision to leave - NO - Even in hindsight, I still felt mentally abused; but, I think I should not have let my emotion get in the way that morning and just reported my situation and waited until a replacement could be found.
No.
I've worked at my minimum wage job for seven months but my boss is verbally abusive and the hours are awful. How would I go about quitting?
