Generally on average, men have greater size and upper body strength. Some sports, that require precision rather than size or strength, such as archery, rifle, pistol, trap and skeet shooting, men and women can and do compete against each other on an equal basis (not at the Olympic level though). In sports requiring only lower body strength, such as running, women's times have been getting closer to men's times. +3 Kool

Most sports reward physical strength and most men have greater strength than women.
However, I recall watching many professional mixed doubles tennis matches, a sport where men compete against women. I also suspect the Williams girls could rank very high in the men's professional tennis circuit and win a few. I found a video which demonstrates the strength these women have.

Also, sometimes the girls are stronger(back to top)or smarter(usually). Sometimes ,most of the time, the dudes stronger... that's all I can think of...
