How do you disable auto-capitalization in Microsoft Word? I still want the first letter of sentences to be capitalized, just not every time I hit the enter key.

• I think it's the only way to do it. You just have to remember to undo immediately after the auto capitalisation.

• I've been able to find that, but I am just looking to see if the Auto-Caps option is really all or nothing. I hate how Word insists that every time I hit the enter key I need a capital letter...but at the same time, I really want to keep the option for capitalization at the beginning of every sentence.

• Yes, I hate that, too. It also insists on putting one after every period I type, even if it is for an abbreviation. Annoying program.

• Very annoying. I know that you can create exceptions for the abbreviation capitalization rule, though. Format > AutoFormat > Options > AutoCorrect. Click the Exceptions button and show Bill Gates who's boss. :-)
