I truly liked his work.
He was funny in a gentle and harmless way. A warm laugh that any age could enjoy.
Well personally, I always preferred Otis the town drunk, but that's just me!! LOL
Oh and I always had a soft spot in my heart for Floyd the Barber!
Would have to google him to recognise him sorry. The first thing it made me think of was Knots Landing - a long~ago soapie.
Barney Fife...one of the most iconic characters in tv history!
A goof ball...
He was Mr. Limpet.+5
One of the best of the "physical" comedians, those that can make you laugh just by making a goofy face...on, and on, and on. Few can make that happen.
He was goofy and I liked him.
Don Knotts was a truly funny man.
Some comedians try and try to be funny, but fail.
Don Knotts, just by looking at him, was a funny scene all by itself.
He was a natural comedian.
Being so skinny also added to his demeanor.
He's dead
On Mayberry his character is about as goofy as they come.
A great comedic actor and funny as heck.
Funny man:
He did lots of TV Series that I enjoyed watching.
Had a special humor.
To goofy for me. Good side kick for the main actor.
Barney Fife was the comic engine that powered the Mayberry Machine!
A truly great actor who is missed greatly. He took more effort to be funny when he was younger. This was a time when a comedian couldnt use dirty jokes, or cuss words or anything. It took a naturally funny man like him to be funny.
To be honest, I did not find him all that funny. The Barney Fife character was especially grating for me.
I never thought he was that good a comedian.
Mr. Bean and him are brothers..:)
I think Mr.Furley should have had a threesome with the Ropers!! It would have made an interesting episode of 3's company!
he was a good sidekick. I liked him.
Good actor. No way to know what he was really like by his acting -- that good. +5
He was great. I just wish that there had been some episodes in any of the series he was in where he hadn't always been a screw up. He was always type cast that way, and I think it was a disservice to little guys everywhere. It perpetuated a sterotype that may never die.
