Do women ever slip date-rape drugs on men?

• no, i meant only the extraordinarily ugly woman need date rape drugs.
  almost any woman can get sex just by asking for it, it's harder for most men (george clooney and brad pitt excluded)

• Oh, yes that makes more sense. I don't agree with you, though: sometimes people can't get sex because of their personality or because of chance. It's not all about looks. And on the flip side, there are ugly women out there who get it all the time.

• yes, ugly women do "get it" to.
  frankly i was just being a wise ass about only the ugly ones.
  but it is true that it is much easier for a woman to get it then a man.
  there are lot's of men who will do anything that holds still long enough, but most woman are more particular about who they let through the vermilion gates.
  usually women are looking for more then a roll in the hay so are less likely to resort to drugs.
  also a drugged woman is still 90% performance capable, while an impaired man is less likely to be UP o the use for which you suggest.
  third, date rape is really more about power over another and less about just wanting sex and that mentallity is mostly found in the male just as you don't see as many female serial killers outside the cinema.

• I think you're being a little self-centred. Not every news story (or dramatic representation of the news) makes its way to you: there are some things you miss and other things you see but soon forget. Everyone's like that: consequentially, different people know different things. You're basically asking "How could you not know something I know?" And the flip side of this is you're basically assuming there's nothing I know that you don't...a dangerous position to take.

• I'm not even talking to you, Teresa. I was asking Anonymous if he/she watched too much TV in her comparing a Law & Order episode or two to real life circumstances of men being drugged with Date-rape drugs. Any woman that gives a man a drug to rape them isn't going to get to first base.

• I don't expect everyone to know what I know. that would be silly.
   
  but being so bombarded with the type of local news, that at least I get, and that seems prevalent everywhere I've been, and that's hard to avoid--even if you don't watch the news, there are ads for it during whatever you do watch, and people gossip about the latest case of murder or rape that seems to fascinate the nation
  there are wanted suspects on billboards, and tv programs get interrupted for breaking news that's not news, but car chases, no news, reporting, just a tv chopper, showing footage of cop cars following another.
  I find all this so hard to avoid that I was pleasantly surprised, and wondered if it was living a different way, or in a different place, just wondered

  we are so bombarded, by news and press, that we know so much that we don't want to, that we don't care about, and that we don't want to be hearing about yet again
   
  imagine if someone came on here, never having heard of of twilight, the books, the movie, the shrieking hysterical fans, I'd beg to know how they done that
   
  that's an example
   
  for me at least, I'm not as bombarded with graphic news as I am with twilight mania, but it's close. so, you can understand why I wanted to know how you managed to avoid it
   
  because I don't listen to the local news, tv or radio. I avoid it. I attempt to avoid people gossiping about the latest horror stories, I don't buy the magazines with articles about JonBenét Ramsey or any other tragedy. occasionally, while standing in line, I'll count how many covers the new cause célèbre is on. but I still somehow know
   
  so please, tell me how you manage not to.

• You ask me to tell you how I managed to not learn something, but how could I possibly answer that? To know how/why I didn't learn something I'd have to know when and where I could have learned it -- and if I knew that, I'd have learned it then and there! I don't avoid news: I read the headlines, I watch Law & Order, I talk to people, I go on the internet, but this particular story didn't fall in my radar. I really think this wouldn't be such a surprise to you if you recognized that you and your experiences aren't representative of everyone, even of people in your society.

• I can see you're trying to be cheeky but I think that's a terrible thing to say. You don't honestly think that men, any man, are truly indiscriminate when it comes to sex partners, do you? You don't honestly think that rape is a joke, do you? How do you think a man who has been raped would feel, reading this answer?

• I guess you're right. What can go wrong eventually will. Of course men are not always interested in sex, and eventually a woman will drug rape a man. I just don't know if he can have an erection while unconscious.

• And sometimes to even kill them. At least in some foreign countries if your a prostitute. I had read an article about this. And when asked if one prostitute would tell on another prostitute if a man died from being drugged. The prostitute said, "No". I guess since the prostitutes are "expendable" as human beings the men are too. And who can really blame them given their circumstances. And for the women who are possibly married to some men who secure prostitutes on business trips I say keep his life insurance paid up.
