I was wondering what the average length of the human neck was/is, so I yahoo-ed it and it directed me to this site. I instructed one of my friends to measure her neck {this happened over txtn/IMn so don't know if she did it exactly right but} and she said her's was about 4 1/2 inches long. This measurement comes from putting a ruler on top of your shoulder and putting your finger/hand right under your jaw-bone {[in the middle] of the side of your neck}... I did this and got 5 to 6 inches. I was/am wondering if my neck is longer than average. I am not an adult... neither is my friend. Hope this helped. ... {dot dot dot} SEND
