Honestly, no. My stepfather and mother met online and there's a lot of lies and stuff they've hidden from each other online that when they met up made for a lot of controversy. It's harder, and I don't think necessarily the right place to look for a spouse. Short term, fun, maybe, but not a spouse.

My hairdresser who I have known since high school is engaged to be married this June. She met her future groom online through an internet dating service. He is a widower and his younger female co-workers who adore him, entered his information in a data base. And now . . . "she's going to the chapel and she's going to get married!"

I went online to "diversify my interests" and just have fun. ( AKA: booty calls / meet people ) Did not want any attachment. Turns out, I met a FABULOUS man, and we've been together 2 and a half years. Who knew?

I used to think not, but then some of my friends met some excellent people and married them through an initial internet courtship.

I guess it is more than many folks used to have with letter-writing courtships.

I don't know if it's a good way or not, but it's worked for a couple of people I know.

It's another way, and just as good or bad as the other ways. It worked for me though. My husband and I initially met online and we have a good marriage.

It's actually a horrible way, internet relationships don't last very long, even after marriage.

I met my current boyfriend of over a year online. (Not through a dating site though.)

I'm not disapproving of it... at all. :)

Hmm, not the BEST way, but I bet some people have found their love in the internet. It's best to stick to people you actually know and can talk to face-to-face.

Both my brothers and my dad found their women online, my bro is getting married after 3 years and my dad has been with the same woman for 6+ years. My other bro has been with his girlfriend for 2+ years, But It doesnt seem to work for me. I guess it's harder to meet a good man then it is to meet a good woman. Who knows.

It might be ok.... the best if you can find out more of his personal information online too before you decide to date this person. Where he lives, how he makes living,... credit score...LOL. before too late. He or she might be in a huge debt or a shyco.

Well I have never done it however I am thinking about it. It doesn't seem like a natural way to meet someone but now a days it might just be. Girls today are crazy, as are men, but something is wrong with the girls. I'm sure there are wierdos on internet dating sites but I'm sure there are some real down to earth people as well. I think in this day and age the better girls and guys are the ones on a dating site. I mean every guy I know, family or friends, who have married, get divorced and it's always the girls fault. Someone I know got married, had a kid, and then his girl just didn't want to be married anymore. Got up and left. Someone I know got married and his girl cheated on him within a few months of being married. Someone I know has been dating this girl for three years. They live together. He just found out that for 2 of the years, shes had another boyfriend. He surprised her at her job with flowers and her coworkers said shes out with her boyfriend. He waited and sure as shit she came back with another guy. Another I know got married and after buying a house together she also decided she didn't want to be married anymore. I could keep going. I think that the genuine people that want to find love and want to be happy with someone and have a good life with someone are the people who use internet dating sites.
