I explain that I am not into bar room brawling as sport. Any physical threat to me I will attempt to defuse verbally, but if unsuccessful I will then defend myself with intent to end that threat permanently.

I don't like violence. I stay away. When I have to defend myself, people are usually surprised, and then they stay away. I'm not talking about big men. But my next door neighbor, a BIG man, is not afraid of anyone. I just have to scream and heaven help the intruder.
Once a kid lit a car on fire across the street. My neighbor jumped into action before the fire, etc came.
The kid, 20 years old, was also on fire. My neighbor told him he better get help because if he didn't get off his lawn, fire would be the least of his problems. We now have a very safe neighborhood. +5
