Would your digestive system digest properly if you were hung upside down for a long time?

    It should, as food moves through your system as a result of peristaltic muscle movement (wave like movement around the intestines), thus gravity is not an issue.
    I think that if the valves at the top of your stomach were not very good at their job, your would get a lot of reflux, though.
