  • No. Hell no.
  • Definitely not.
  • No. They should be used to pay for legal citizens. Illgeal immigrants are causing a drain on our system. Shame on them. And then they ralley to protest against USA?? Go home!! dang. **btw, I know some are happy, but not all. This is not an all or none statement. And I know some of these are legal kids, their parents are the illegals. They have put their kids in a tough spot. Ever know one whose parents got sent home and now they are in the foster care system?? Messes them up. I feel for them.
  • Only if the child is a citizen.
  • NO!! I just heard the other evening there ar like 74 million illegal immigrants in this Country, and they can get free health care, work, and open their own businesses. It is just WRONG..Shouldnt we take care of our own first??
  • I think education is a human right. If those children are here, chances are their parents are here working hard, doing the jobs nobody wants and big corps like to pay peanuts for. They likely buy food and gas and pay sales taxes on those items and keep our economy going, though it is likely that they are benefitting those giant agribusinesses most. We pay very little for our produce here and the reason why is all those Mexicans you folks love to hate on. They get very little for their hard work. Since we are exploiting them I think the least we could do is take basic care of their children. Many illegals have children in the US and though their parents are illegal, the children are citizens. Seriously. You hate illegals? Boycott the businesses that use them in growing numbers without so much as a handslap by the feds. Farms, hotels, restaurants, small manufacturers, and huge companies use them through contractors. As long as their labor is cheap with few consequences, the rest of us will have to take care of them and their children who are innocent in all of this. • I always find American hysteria about "illegal immigrants" really amusing. Ask the Sioux or the Dakota who the real illegal immigrants are! They were there first... Of course, if you have any sense, you educate all the kids in your country to the best of your ability. Otherwise you create an underclass, and perpetuate a two-speed economy. Lincoln freed the salves, but modern policy risks creating a whole sector of people without votes, who pay no taxes and officially do not exist. You have to ask, is this a road we want to go down?
  • everyone is an immagrant to america....the white people stole the land from the native americans HOW THE HELL IS THAT FAIR??? but a few extra dollars aint
  • fact: No one is going to kick them out. Fact: Even if you stopped illegal immigration today, there would still be 3 million illegals in public schools. Fact: An uneducated underclass will drag down ANY country. So what do we do? Our options are: 1. Educate them so they become viable, tax paying citizens. 2. Kick them out of schools and pay their bills in other areas when they are starving on the streets. It's cheaper to educate them if we're not going to kick them out. Trust me, I advocate booting their butts out, but it is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! So we are stuck teaching them english as our kids waste their time in school.
  • No. Paying for the children of those who have inhabited this country illegally is foolish. To do so only encouraged such behavior.
  • No. The money should be used to help them go home or to learn English and fill out the forms to become a citizen so they can pay their share of the taxes!
  • If you are talking about people that are from a international land yes. If you are referring to the Mexicans. NO! This is their land. And the propaganda need to stop acting as though it's not.
  • See here is the catch to that. If the child was born in the US even though the parents werent, that child IS a US citizen. So legally it would be the right thing to do.
  • No and we are spending WAY too much money on bilingual education. Now McDonald's menu is written in BOTH languages....English and Spanish and Walmart has products like shampoo with both languages on the front. When did this start happening and WHY?
  • Absolutely. Otherwise, you'd just be creating ignorant, lower-class, lower-income people who will bring the country down. You can't stop illegal immigrants entirely, so at least improve the country by educating the children.
  • No, No, No & no. I don't have a problem with legals, but if they're illegal they shouldn't even be able to ATTEND the schools. Dang it, I'm getting so tired of this crap. I'm sorry if its hard these days, but if you want to get support of the American public, do it the right way & do it legally. Pay taxes like the rest of us & support eberybody else like we do!!!
  • No way should it come out tax dollars! The should have to rob and steal money of people to pay for their education and food and everything else! I would rather them stab me to take my money than show any compassion and pay my taxes. Why the hell do we pay taxes, it is definately not to support these desperate people, its so I have nice roads and big bombs to blow up the country they came from. If they waited till be blow up there country they could come here as refugees, then they could get government support, because they helped the countrys ecconomy. War is great for our ecconomy, so if they want our support, the only way is to let us blow some stuff up to help our ecconomy, once our ecconomy is riding high on the back of war, let them in.
  • Children born of immigrants on American soil are American, so yes, they should be educated here in America. Children born outside of the U.S. but brought her by their immigrant parents didn't choose to come here so yes, they should be educated here using our tax dollars. Should childless couples have to pay taxes that go toward education? Yes to that as well.
  • It's not the children's fault that their parents brought them here illegally. If the child is going to be here, let's teach them English so they lead a better life & tell their parents how stupid they are. Also, many people have mentioned the fact that we are all immigrants. There's one difference with the people that are coming over illegally vs. those coming legally and those of us who have been here for generations - we do pay our taxes and contribute to the American way.
  • It makes me sad how many people on here, especially those whose opinions I had heretofore respected, think that ANY child should be denied an education and an opportunity. You say that it's because their parents are illegal or because they don't pay taxes (there are statistical FACTS to the contrary), but punishing an innocent child? Pathetic, racist worms you are! You should all be ashamed of yourselves.
  • No I do not
  • Absolutely yes! Denying education to anyone, legal or illegal is morally offensive.
  • No, I believe tax dollars are intended for use only by the citizens of the country that collects them. To spend that money on illegal immigrants would make fiscal planning and projection for the national budget nigh impossible.
  • Children are innocent and should not be punished for the actions of their parents. However the family must be deported especially in this age of terrorism from far ashore and drug smuggling and Meso and South American terror organizations such as FARC in Columbia. Sadly the answer is no, but I wish they could recieve a better education in their home countries.
  • Sorry to sound rude, but why do so many questions that have a global impact - there are a great many illegal immigrants in Europe -have to have a United States bias? I repeat - this is a universal problem and this is an international site.
  • Tax dollars should be used for legal residents and citizens only. Illegal immigrants/aliens are entitled to a ride back to their country of origin and the right to apply for citizenship to whatever country they choose who will accept them. Their children are entitled to whatever their parents can provide for them. I tried to keep my answer on an "international" level.
  • I believe the correct choice is to educate these kids. Be pragmatic about it: If they're educated, they are more likely to become productive, contributing participants in our ecomony and society. While they are in school, we have a chance to indoctrinate them in our culture, in what we believe to be right and wrong. To provide social and cultural support for behavior we feel is acceptable for a resident of this country. If we boot them out, we loose that opportunity and they are more likely to look to gangs for the familial and cultural education and support. They are more likely to commit crime and end up in our prison system, serving full terms, before they are sent back to their home country. It is far more expensive to store an illegal immigrant in prison/jail than it is to house them in the public school system. If they are educated and stay, then they become contributors to our economy. (Even as illegals.) If they become educated and go home, they have the ability to have a better life there, and are more likely to support their families and friends and reduce (in the long view) the exodus of illegals from that place. The loss is much less, and the possibility for gain much higher.
  • I think the answer is in the question. If its illegal its bad. Bad does not get rewarded. Take welfare and medical away. If they are illegal they are not paying income tax. (contributing to our deficit) Getting free education (contributing to our deficit) Getting welfare (contributing to our deficit) Getting Medical care (contributing to our deficit) I heard the best idea from a caller on the radio. since the mexicans keep invading the US. The US should invade Mexico. Make it the 51st state. Raid there oil reserves (the worlds largest reserves). Free them all. Since they do seem to be very hard workers I am sure that there should be no more economic problems in Mexico. Sounds Good To Me
  • Actually it's dead on. Ask INS. Children born on american soil or by birth American and entitled to all the benefits of caucasian born children, and let's face it, this is the real issue. Brown skin. Not that they are immigrants because we aren't throwing a fit when Irish immigrants overstay their visas or when Germans come and on an education visa and don't go back to germany but settle here after graduation and are readily employed. The facts are that Americans are bigoted against all others who do not LOOK like them (Arabs, Mexicans, Asians, etc).
  • You have to be kidding right? We didn't STEAL land from them? We are living on stolen land right now. the native americans inhabited this land before explorers and colonists came to rape it. The Spanish inhabited the western part of the United States. yes we stole land from them. it's called IMPERIALISM>
  • Anonymous, you seem not to understand children BORN on American soild ARE considered BY THE GOVERNMENT to be AMERICAN. Do you get that now? So no matter what you are I THINK, the fact remains that our own government considers these children American. Get off your racist high horse.
  • Absolutely not. I refuse to work my butt off to send a free loading kid to school. If they want to go to school, they can become citizens and pay the taxes to do so.
  • It's a catch 22 -- if you took all illegal farmworkers out of USA -- food would become much more expensive. So maybe some taxes are used to educate children -- but think of all the money you are saving at the checkout, each time you buy American produce! All hand picked by illegal workers.
  • our tax dollars should go towards education, health care and all rights that ALL human beings should have not some horrifying war machine that we have sucking ALL our tax dollars into. come on people lets point the finger at those who are really screwing things up!
  • Absolutely not. Nor use our hospitals.
  • I think we should follow Mexico's lead and use their immigration policies. They believe Mexico should be enriched by immigrants and that immigrants should provide their own sources and should use none of Mexico's. They imprison and deport all illegal aliens immediately. Children of illegal immigrants regardless of place of birth are illegal immigrants.
  • NO NO NO!
  • Yes, if we can afford it why not? They need to go to school just as much as the legal ones do.
  • definately not.
  • These immigrant children are the ones who, when they become citiizens, are going to pay the social security taxes that will guarantee the Social Security checks that Anonymous aka Scifisuz will be receiving when he's old enough to collect. Immigration to the US is one of the ways that Social Security is going to be saved. It is necessary.
  • No. If they become U.S. citizens then they have the right, if not an obligation, to use our money to educate themselves. I have the deepest respect for any person who has gone through the system and become a U.S. citizen legally. What makes me mad is the illegals who come over here and demand that we give them free education, jobs, drivers licences, ect. What makes me even more mad is that when we refuse to give them this we are labled as racist. What makes them so special? Why should they be able to get all this for nothing, when everyone else does the work and earns it? If all the Mexicans in Mexico want to come to the U.S., let them, but make them do it legally! Same with all the other immigrants coming into this country.
  • No, I think I shouldn't pay for them and neather should you!! If we let everyone in this country, where will we go? If they take all of our jobs how will we make a living? That is not fair that they get scholarships and free money and take working americans homes because the have better credit they get all of these credit cards, I see them driving brand new jaguars, bmw, mercides, suv, all of the nice cars wearing italian clothes gucci, versace, making over $15 an hour cash. Taking in there language and not ever trying too speak english or if they do know they say No english they tell police No english or play like the dont understand and they give there family in the other money and the run out of the country when they break the law.
  • it doesnt matter, unless you can point them out in a crowd and send them back. anyways your always going to end up paying for somethng you dont have to
  • No harm in it at all. It wasn't their decision to come to America, it was their parents'. Presumably, their parents want them to be American, and in America public education is a right for all - after all, prisoners have forfeited some of their rights of their own will and they're still allowed to go to school...
  • People want to say that illegal immigrants will lower the quality of education for everyone else. I am a teacher in a public school in a state that has a VERY large number of illegal immigrants. I have noticed the following things: 1) The kids who are usually holding the classroom back are kids that are classified as "special education" due to their laziness (not an actual disability). These kids are HIGHLY disruptive on average. Their parents typically use the special education system as a crutch for them and make excuses for them. 2) Hispanic families generally have better family values and a better work ethic than white families (yes, I'm white...so I know). 3) Not only should we educate ALL kids, but we need to be aggressively making sure that they are in class (where they belong) and holding parents responsible if they are not in class (which is an entirely different debate I'm sure). 4) We all know what happens to all people (not just illegals) who don't get an education. They typically turn to gangs, drugs, etc. They end up committing violent crimes because they never learned respect at home (because their parents were working 2 jobs each) or at school (because they dropped out). They end up in prison (costing us a HUGE fortune every year). Or they end up dead (usually taking innocent people with them). So as much as it sucks to think that our hard-earned money is going to pay for illegal aliens to get an education, at least we are giving them hope for the future. These kids work much harder in the classroom than the average American student, so take that into consideration before you rail on them too much. There are several major problems with our education system in the US, and this is NOT one of them. If you really want illegal children removed from our schools, then we need to kick illegal aliens out of the country and protect our borders better. Call your congressman (or woman) and let them know how you feel.
  • Our children should come before anything, they are the future, and if we dont take care of them first, then why in the hell should we spend it on illegal immigrants,we had to start from the bottom they should to.
  • NO! Infact children from illegal immigrants shouldn't even be called citizens of the U.S. If we are going to use our hard earned Tax money to educate children in any schools in the United States then it should be for children of parents who are here in the U.S. legally.
  • its understand able that people dont want to educate illegal aliens or their children at that but i still believe we should give them a chance at an education. its not fair to a child that they were born in a mild third world country. Most people dont agree. But the main thing is we all started with nothing, and some of us are lucky enough to end up with something. Illegal aliens are still going to be coming no matter if the border is built higher or thicker, these people just want to make life better. We should give it a chance, we owe it to illegal children who want to become the first in their families to graduate. I dont see how its fair that people say to keep them working in the fields illegally but with no education rights.
  • Hell no!
  • Of course. The alternative would be inhuman - and lead to further social ills. No-one has pointed out the self-evident fact that the American public school system needs a lot of work before it could be called good. So, spend MORE dollars on it - and get it right, for everyone, illegal immigrant or not. Those children of illegal immigrants could grow up to be significant contributing citizens in the US if given the chance of an effective education - they almost certainly won't if they are not. Think of the future - not of dollars, today.
  • Absolutely not. the same goes for health care.
  • Would you not try to do your best for your child, that is all they are trying to do, would you swap places, do you think you could stick it if it was you? it is so easy for us to say it. We are not in fear, our comforts have made us greedy, our hard work has made us resent those who want to try to do the same. What ever happened to humanity, all the children in the world are our future adults, we reap what we sew.
  • No. I believe they deserve an education, but I think that would be the parents responsibility, since they are the ones that brung their children over here illegally, knowing that it would not be available. If they want to use our school systems, they need to become citizens. Could you move to any other country and expect them to pay for your health insurance, schooling, or housing, I dont think so.
  • I think its fine as long as their parents are in the process of citizenship. If you don't educate illegals you keep them in the poverty level and increase crime.
  • IF U MEEN RUSSIANS THAN NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! mexicans,& others reserve writes!
  • No. Cut off all benefits to illegals, including free education. Put those businessmen who employ illegals in jail. Deport as many as you can -- most of the rest will self deport -- and build the tallest barrier possible. Perhaps an electrified barbed-wire fence along the border with a moat in back of it.
  • This is a moot point. Illegals pay taxes just like citizens do. They have funds withdrawn from their checks like we do. The difference is that they can't file their taxes like we can. We get a refund and they don't. Now... I know what you're going to say... they work under the table..... it's true that many of them do but many don't. Many Americans also work under the table. That said.... no, our taxes shouldn't support illegals.
