Yes, there are, but they are normally not in such numbers as to be a nuisance. I can't remember when I last had a mosquito bite.
We do have them but they are not numerous like in hotter countries.

You find a lot of mosquitoes in sultry climates. Doesn't England have a sultry weather? Cause I heard it rains a lot over there.
by Sokoot on September 25th, 2009
It sure rains over here, but the majority of flying insects we get are midges. The weather in England sometimes gets a bit humid in the summer and thats when they hatch out.Scotlands Lochs are plagued with midges and most probably mosquitos.

Are you referring to Scotland as another country or a part of England?
by Sokoot on September 25th, 2009
Yes,Scotland is a country in its own right and they have their own parliament, although they are still part of the union.
by Schonberg on September 25th, 2009
England is not really warm enough to be described as 'sultry'. Most of this summer has been cloudy and damp, although this month has been better (partially sunny, but not very warm).
by Prunesquallor on September 25th, 2009
Yes, humid describes it better I guess.
