Question

Help answer this question below.

If "The Jetsons" take place in the future, why do we still see Florida when we see our planet in the intro sequence? Wouldn't the future sea-level rise have wiped it off?

I have calculated that the above ground ice will not make that much of a difference in sea level.

maybe they shipped the water elsewhere.

I dunno, if you watch the old cartoons you'll note that the phones have cords, so they obviously weren't thinking too far ahead. ;)

I gave you +4, the most I could give. Why you got DR'd is beyond me. To you question, the answer is simple. When we finally figured out how to invent and put into practice flying cars, the solution to the rest of our problems fell into our laps.

I can't imagine why anyone would give you negative points for a perfectly reasonable question! You still see Florida's shape the way it looks today because the Jetsons' future is on a different world line from the one we're on. I mean, we don't have time machines or anything, so how would we be able to see into our OWN future?!? We can only see alternate futures.

On the other hand, SOMETHING must have made them put their buildings on stilts high in the sky. Maybe their future is AFTER the sea levels went back down?
