If you get stopped by a police officer for speeding, do you try to talk yourself out of the ticket or?

A little...i take responsibility, but I try to get them to take pity on me

I've gotten pulled over many times for speeding and I have only gotten two tickets in my life. I don't usually talk my way out of it but I do my best to let my girls do the talkin. lol I only got one ticket from a guy and one from a lady officer! I guess they didnt work on her or... him...lol

It's been a while, but sorta.

I know I've been speeding. I will ask them what they clocked me at, and they will usually tell me. I usually tell them what I think I was going by my speedometer. If I get a ticket (and not a warning), they will usually mark it at my "stated" speed (usually a few MPH below what they clocked me at).

I went into a transitional area (70-55) once, and started slowing too late. However, I was following a truck. The officer stopped me. I told him about the truck, and he said he saw it, too, so just gave me a verbal warning. (COOL!)

I got stopped once for not using a turn-signal at 2-3AM from a turn-only lane. I was just coming back from working with a band at a show. He asked if I'd had anything to drink, and I said no. I had one of those mega-mugs in my console, and he asked me what I had in that. I told him, "Iced Tea" - Instant - want to check it?" He declined. He said he stopped me because most DUI drivers tend to forget to use their signals. He just gave me a verbal warning for that.)

I always try/tried, but am not always successful at explaining/talking my way out of a ticket. ;-)

The only time I was stopped by a cop I was given a warning, I didn't try for it that's just what he did, but I think if I was given a ticket I would just take it.

No, I take it like a man, and try not to be such a dummy in future, with any luck the officer will disregard the offence because I have accepted that I was wrong to be speeding in the first place!

I just keep my mouth shut and sign. I get myself in more trouble if I talk.

Nope!! The last time I was stopped for speeding !! I had just applied an engine coating,it hadn't completely cured therefore my car was smoking!!!! I would have felt silly arguing about not speeding with my car bellowing out white smoke all over the place !!
