Do tourists in San Francisco sometimes expect the cablecars to behave like cars, and get squashed?

• I forget where my wife & I rode it exactly on our honeymoon... Google Maps won't let me zoom in for some reason. I think it was UNION Square, and we caught the car up towards the Marina. Somebody pulled their car out in front of us and the conductor made a "Sheesh" noise and joked "That's how we make Rice-a-Roni." A couple of days later, renting a car, I kind of expected them to stop at lights.

• Ah, I get the question now - "Do tourist expect that the same traffic rules apply to cable cars, and their rental cars get squashed as a result?"
  
  I thought you were picturing Godzilla squashing a cable car. lol
  
  You probably got on around Fisherman's Wharf. The cars stop about 3-4 blocks away.

• That's right... there was a short guy dressed in a shimmering foil-looking suit complete with hood posing motionless on a concrete post near F.W.

• yeah, it's the new "cool" way to "earn" money
  They "come to life" with coins.
  There were tons near the Brandenburg Gate, so I know it's not just US slackers doing this - lol
