What? Is Godzilla in San Francisco these days trampling things?
Umm, no car (automobile) that I have ever travelled in has been "squashed."
SF's cable cars remain one of the city's most popular tourist attractions, with a ridership of millions of people a year.
Here's a hint: If you want to ride a cable car, get on at California Street, either at the Embarcadero or at Van Ness. The lines are much, much, much shorter than at Powell Street or Hyde Street, and the view is actually much better. However, the Powell-Hyde line goes through Chinatown, so it has its own merits.
