You can find references. You must know sombody. How about an old high school friend or a cousin. A teacher or pastor also might work, doesn't have to be current. Just put somebody down that won't say anything negative about you.

I have a woman I worked with a long time ago. She has her own business and she gives me a job reference whenever I need to fill in some time spot. That stuff is so hokey anyway. Who in a low housing situation even needs to worry about references? They are dying to rent to everyone these days.
