Is PETA doing more harm than good for the animal rights movement?

PETA: Drop the lame stunts, will you?

If PETA was the standard by which the animal rights movement was judged, I would say that the cause is one that is better off dropped.

PETA has managed to set back animal welfare, certainly. Euthanasia in their shelters is often their first option before adoption.
Have they done much for animal rights? Unlikely since they seem hell bent on alienating all but their own inner circle. Have terrorists managed to look good in the eyes of the world and have their agenda agreed to as right and proper? Nope. The reverse on the whole. Same with PETA. If they spent their funds on animals, not stunts I think they'd come off a little better.

LOOK- im getting friiign peeved off at this. people think peta is crazy and theyre going overboard on the animal protests, but theyre only doing that because people are too stupid to listen and they have to take drastic measures just so someone will pay attention. DONT U GET IT???????????????? AND PEOPLE ARE SAYING THAT PETA CARES MORE ABOUT CHICKENS AND STUFF THAN KIDS. DUH!! PETA STANDS FOR PEOPLE FOR THE ETHICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS, ITS NOT PETC- PEOPLE FOR THE ETHICAL TREATMENT OF CHILDREN, SO JUST GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEADS AND LET PETA DO THEIR JOB, UNLESS U HATE ANIMALS. PS- WHAT PETA IS DOING CAN ALSO HELP KIDS TOO. LETS SAY THAT A HAMBURGER AT SOME PLACE MAKES KIDS SICK CUZ THE COW ISNT SLAUGHTERED RITE, AND WHEN PETA GETS THAT RESTAURANT TO SELL HUMANELY SLAUGHTERED FOOD, THE COWS R OK AND THE KIDS R TOO, ALL RITE!!!!????? (sorry 4 being like dis, but seriously)
