I was so broke in college that if someone rang my doorbell I had to yell, "ding dong!" out the window.
-
Yup but it only lasted about a week. I rode my bike to work, ate what food I had in my house, and actually kind of enjoyed it. Something to be said for keeping a large bag of rice around :)
-
Yes and i will be there again in 4 days.

Not completely. I still had a couple of pennies in the bottom of my change jar.

Once, it was the only time I've ever been unemployed! Wasn't fun! +4pts. =)

Yes, thanks to an exhusband I had when I was very young. We lived in the car for 2 weeks and begged in churches. Thankfully God got me out of that situation! :)

Yes, and I had to swallow my pride and ask for a little help. Got back on my feet and paid everything back. Now I'm doing ok, even though finances are really tight.

Since I was 20-years old I have NEVER been without enough money to keep a roof over my head or have something to eat. I have been married over 40 years and my wife and I had decent incomes all the years we worked both in private business and for the state. I have a decent annuity from one job, and retirement from my state job. We have always lived well within our means, have money in the bank, money in severad CD's, almost have our home (our third) paid for. Barring foolish spending and a total collapse of the system ..... and planning for the future ..... no reasonable person should be completely without money.
-
i'm completely out of money right now. i have a piggy bank with about 300 dollars in it. but it's my babies money. i won't spend it unless i absolutely have to. but i've survived on 50 bucks a week without touching her money.

Nope

Yes all the time in Europe. I had to sometimes wait two weeks for money, without more than a penny. I went days without food, and was sometimes too hungry to even get up out of bed to go to the bathroom.

I grew up without much handed my way and started hustling odd jobs as a kid, then took formal jobs at the legal working age of 16 just to eat better and have things to wear other than worn hand-me-downs. I saved every dime I could and eventually paid my own college education. The closest thing I've known to "broke" was being out of cash. I rolled up and deposited old coin change in order to make the rent. The objective was to keep from raiding the IRA. I did not have to do that.

Yes, several times.

-
