I think home is the best place for a baby to be born unless there is expected complications or they arise while the mother is in labor. A home atmosphere is less stressful on both the mother and the baby.
A hospital, it's safer and more sterile, of course lol.
I would always prefer hospital births ... just safer that way.
Hospital. That is where the medical professionals are. :)
I prefer the hospital. Too many things can go wrong that my home isn't equipt to handle....and I really like the room service and total control of the remote! :)
Suby I consider myself an extremely strong woman yet I apted for the hospital and all the drugs for pain my body could handle. :O) Then again that is just me!
Hospital every time. You never know when something could go wrong and the mother or baby needs emergency treatment.
Hospital, in case something goes wrong, which has occurred. Although I didn't like the treatment in one hospital and I was getting ready to go home in the middle of labor. That doctor had to put on a small rocket to get to me as fast as he did. From then on, no problems. +5
I like the middle route - a homey-feeling birth center, with trained midwives that know what to expect and all the warning signs for a necessary hospital transfer.
Hospital. My wife is an OB nurse and she has told me of things that happen even when a birth IS watched over by professionals with the latest drugs and machinery at their fingertips.
.
Birth is a natural process...that can kill you.
The hospital, for sure!
What if the baby ended up with the cord around it's neck? Or with respiratory difficulties? Or without a heartbeat? I'd rather be at a hospital just in case.
I would prefer, where my wife wanted the event to happen.Would be bad news if it was anywhere other than.Home would be nice ,if

I dislike the birthing practice in the place I live (overseas) as it is too medicalised - they use drugs and epistiotomies. How safe is it to attempt a home birth - i.e. not to go to the hospital and then call the doctor when it is too late to travel?
