Can someone please explain to me what TiVo is and what it does? Can everyone please explain, because the more info I get the better chance I have of staying employed! Help?

Yep. The newer ones can record two channels at a time, too. I have two TiVo's... one about 9 years old, and it still works great, and a nearly new High Def TiVo with dual tuners. They are really a well-designed and easy-to-use product. www.tivo.com has plenty of info if you need more.

Thank you so much. My job is to advertise a DVR for another company that lets you record up to 4 live shows at one time in hi def and play it back on any tv in the house through a wireless gateway. Well that took me over a week to even comprehend and now all these people I have to call are asking me all these questions and I don't have a clue. Such as...Does it work with TiVo? Well HOW can it work WITH TiVo it sounds like it IS TiVo but more advanced. I'm getting better at this already.

Yes, it sounds similar to, but more advanced in some ways. One thing that TiVo has going for it, though, is that it has the best user-interface on the market, at least from what I've seen over other DVR's. TiVo is sort of like the Apple of DVRs, you could say.

It allows you to record programs

PVR = Personal Video Recorder

It has an internal hard drive so you don't have to store your shows on a disk or tape.

You are good. Thanks. Do you know if you can transfer infomration from one DVR to another? Like if someone has tons of programs recorded on one DVR is there any type of device out there that allows that information to be recieved in another DVR?

I've never done it personally, nor heard of anybody who has. I did a little search and found this

See if that gives you any ideas! I know you can transfer the files from DVR to DVD, but that might take a while.
