No, Apple seeds are not poisonous. I have eaten them millions of times in my lifetime, and I have yet to be poisoned by them. Infact, I've eaten the entire apple core before, and no harm came from it!
-
No I don't think so. I have eaten them inadvertently several times. Why do you ask?

Apple seeds do contain small amounts of cyanide. However, you would have to ingest an extremely large number of seeds before there was a problem. I personally don't eat apple seeds, but I did go to school with a girl who would eat apple cores from the apples other people were done with. She ate seeds all the time - but like I said, the amount in each seed is very small, and alone didn't cause any problems. http://www.snopes.com/food/warnings/apples.asp

i have eaten plenty i eat an entire apple everyday and do this because i was told small amounts of seed help fight cancer, and now im reading they are possibly lethal and not to by phd's.... now i am confused, but then again natural medicine is always bumping heads with conventional medicine, i guesse you kind of have to use your own best judgement.

they contain a small amount of poison.. but not enough to hurt you unless u ate it by the kilo.. by why would you want to eat them? they are revolting!
-
I never knew anyone who ate apple seeds, but my neighbor got one stuck up her nose once and had to go the E.R. to get it out.
-
No they are not poisonous because i have eaten them more times then i can count, i've never yet learned when to stop bitting into an apple.

Unfortunately apple seeds contain a small amount of a type of sugar which releases cyanide when digested. However, the small amount is easily broken down by the body unless you eat a very large amount at the same time. I have been munching away at apple cores, seeds and all, until I was told that the seeds were poisonous. I checked it out, and found a few sites that clarify this, e.g.: http://www.henriettesherbal.com/archives/best/1995/appleseed.html

They do contain cyanide, but you would have to eat a lot of them before it would affect you, so don't stress if you eat a couple.

Yes apple seeds are poisonous, they only contain trace amounts of cyanide, however if you were to (for some odd reason) save up alot of apple seeds, and ingest them, then the result could be devastating. For if for some reason you love the taste of apple seeds, and you save them, then eat them like one wight eat popcorn, the result would be that you'd either just be hurt from the inside, I believe the symptoms are acute stomach pain, and maybe disiness, or (depending on who you are, considering we all have different bodies) you may even die. So it would be best to avoid eating large amounts of apple seeds, maybe if you truely enjoy them, try to wait at least half an hour between every three or so (waiting less time and eating more may result in disiness, theat would be your first warning).

Apple seeds ARE if you chew them, but only in large doeses, so a few is ok. But if you simply swallow the seed you will be fine because it wont get broke down and will simply pass threw your body. This is natures way of spreading the apple seeds through animal waste and if the trust is broken and the seeds are chewed you are punished with poison:)

I eat them nearly everyday. Ever since I saw Charleton Heston do it in the movie Soylent Green. I eat the apple leaving only the stem. I crush the seeds to release an exquisite flavour, then swallow. sometimes twice a day. They are a treat.
-
Yes, they contain cyanide but it is locked in a harmless form. An example, sodium and chlorine are both poisonous but you eat them everyday locked in the sodium chloride(table salt)form. Some controversial research has shown that the body can actually use this form of cyanide, known as laetrile or b-17, to destroy cancer cells by unlocking the cyanide on them.

talk about beating a dead horse!..so we need another answer telling us they contain a small amount of cyanide...hard to believe! duh!...it sounds like eating them causes MEMORY problems as people don't SEEM TO remember that others have written basically the same thing before them...
-
apple seeds are poisionous but can't hurt a human being. I have eaten many of them and still alive and happy so don't worry
-
Well if they are, I would be dead. I eat the whole apple, including skin, core and seeds. I eat about 10 apples a week.

They ARE to dogs. apples r good for dogs just not the cores. likely harmful to other animals too.
