There is a terrific book written about Qumran and the Dead Sea Scrolls by Jodi Magness called The Archaeology of Qumran and the Dead Sea Scrolls. She is the definative authority on the subject.

Most archaeologists and historians believe that they date to somewhere between 75 and 200 years before Christ, with a few people actually falling outside of that. The exact age is not known, but it is generally acknowledged that they are over 2000 years old.
